What makes a strong designer portfolio
Most of what works here comes down to restraint. Owen Hudock is the clearest example, simple layouts, calm typography, case studies that get straight to the point. Karl Works pushes that even further, almost nothing on the page besides the work itself. Simon Holm shows the same instinct from a brand designer's angle, minimal but not cold.
A few worth studying
Montone. Barely any color, barely any copy, restraint as the entire design language.
Hest.design. Proof that minimal doesn't mean boring when the typography carries the weight.
Zita Fernandez. A quieter, more elegant take, worth pairing with our elegant portfolio pages if that's more the direction someone's after.
