What makes these the best interactive portfolio websites
We don't add a portfolio because it has fancy scroll effects. We add it because the interaction says something about the person behind it. A cursor that reacts, a page that unfolds as you scroll, a hover state that surprises you for half a second. That's the bar. If the interaction feels bolted on, it stays off the list.
Interactive portfolios by designers
Designers use interaction differently than developers do. Less code, more feel. Micro animations on hover, layouts that shift as you scroll, small details that reward you for paying attention. Abhijit Rout and Abhay Singh are good examples of this: minimal on the surface, full of small moments once you start clicking around.
Interactive portfolios built by developers
This is where it gets technical. Bruno Simon built a full 3D car you drive through his portfolio. Valentin Gassend and Elliott Mangham lean on code-driven motion instead of page builder animations. If you want to see what's possible when someone actually writes the interaction, start here.
Immersive and 3D portfolios
Some portfolios don't just move, they put you inside a space. Full 3D scenes you can walk or scroll through instead of a flat page. For more like this, we keep a separate page for 3D portfolios. Not every 3D site is interactive, and not every interactive site is 3D.
A few worth studying
Mimi Vuong. A video and film portfolio that treats scrolling like editing, each transition feels like a cut, not a page load.
Playfight. Playful without being childish. The interactions match the name.
Cloudstudio. Subtle motion, nothing flashy. Proof that interactive doesn't have to mean chaotic.
